                       All that you need .....

                                              The following is a list of all the essentials that you will need for your short
                                              traverse thru the mountains.

                                              * Three pairs of Jeans

                                              * Three full sleeves shirts

                                              * One full sleeves sweater that will keep you warm

                                              * One light-weight jacket filled with down feather to keep you warm in temperatures
                                                 ranging from +6 degrees centigrade to -2 degrees centigrade.

                                              * Two pairs of thick long length socks to keep your legs warm

                                              * A wool cap for early mornings and night.

                                              * Warm hand gloves

                                              * Tamrac or any other make of Waterproof Camera Bags
                                                 Note :- You will not find any good quality manufacturer of camera bags in India.
                                                                Buy your Tamrac's at Home Base and fly in.

                                              * Halliburton or any other make of camera cases with wheels.
                                                 (Please dont buy the oversized ones the airlines will throw them out)
                                                 Note :- You will not find a Halliburton here in India buy at Home Base.

                                              * Tripod (if you insist). Monopods would be ideal for 35mm format/rangefinders

                                              * Shoes : Please ensure that your shoes are well worn in for at least three months
                                                 or else you will certainly slip and fall. The ideal shoes for trekking over boulders,
                                                 landslides, scree slopes, wading thru streams etc are the good old fashioned tennis
                                                 shoes with treads on the sole. You will still find these at rock bottom prices at Bata
                                                 shoe stores and you might want to try those Chinese shoe stores. I am suggesting
                                                 these old fashioned tennis shoes because there soles are very flexible and can grip
                                                 well. The only dis-advantage with these shoes are they wont keep your feet very
                                                 warm or dry.  Use a warm pair of long length socks to keep your feet warm. There
                                                 are several other expensive shoes in the market which are also recommended for
                                                 comfort for example those aerosol soles and woodpecker shoes they avertise on telly.
                                                These shoes are very very very comfortable and your feet wont ache after end of trek.
                                                There is even a shoe that costs USD $730.00 plus taxes which was advertised in OutsideMag.
                                                Take a look its an exquisite shoe meant for ordinary commoners to carry on their head !!
                                                 Dont get carried away by the sight of some porter climbing with military boots !!
                                                 Tese porters are very sure footed mountain goats and we are not !!

                                              * Use and Throw plastic rain coats from dollar tree. Unfortunately we dont get them
                                                 here. If we do spot them we will give you a few for the occasional downpour in the
                                                 wrong season. YES we do supply you with very thick raincoats in July/August when
                                                 it starts pouring. The only reason we dont loan you those thick long length raincoats
                                                 in other seasons is they are bulky to lug around and will add to your body weight.
